WCCA Reunion
Wells Cathedral Choir Association
Annual Reunion 2026
We are pleased to invite you to the annual reunion. The 2026 event will take place on Saturday 9 May.
We’re delighted to invite former Choristers, Vicars Choral, scholars and organists of Wells Cathedral to this year’s annual gathering of the Wells Cathedral Choir Association. This year’s event will be slightly different from normal, as it will be part of the annual Sound of Wells Festival which runs from Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th May. Members of the WCCA will sing Evensong with the Cathedral Choir on Saturday 9th, but this year the service will take place in the Nave, and we will be joined by the Chapel Choir of Wells Cathedral School and accompanied by a string orchestra from School. This year’s repertoire will be Stanford’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in G major and the anthem Blessed City, Heavenly Salem by Edward Bairstow. This promises to be a particularly exciting chance to sing with a large choir in the Cathedral Nave, and we hope many of you will join us!
This year will also be a chance to thank Chris Seaton as he steps down from the position of Chair of WCCA after 16 years. Frances Henderson will be taking on the role of Chair following the annual reunion.
The timetable for the day will be as follows:
1415 - Registration followed by Tea in the Education Room within the Cathedral
1500-1600 - Rehearsal with WCCA members in the Chorister Practice Rooms
1600-1650 – Full Choir rehearsal
1655 - Nave Photograph
1715-1815 – Evensong with Great Choir, WCS Orchestra and WCS Chapel Choir
1830 – Drinks & dinner The Fountain
We are asking for a small amount towards the cost of Tea. We have booked a room at The Fountain Inn for those that would like to stay for an informal dinner and catch up in the evening. Payment for the meal will be made nearer the time of the event but we are asking for a £10 deposit to secure your place. You will also be very welcome at the services on Sunday 10 May - 1030 Eucharist and 1500 Evensong.
If you are able to join us, then please complete the registration form below by Wednesday 29 April. We hope to see you there!
